Adolescent literacy success story
Michael’s adolescent literacy story
If someone who is on the way to your house calls and says,
“I'm lost”, the first question you ask is, “Where are you?”

If you start giving directions based on where that person is, you can lead them to your house. To describe your house over and over again without reference to the starting point is futile. Likewise, when students are struggling readers, to achieve adolescent literacy you have to start where they are and then lead them where you want them to go. You can teach any kid just about anything if you start with reference to where the student is and what he or she already knows - real life.

With that in mind, WeGottaRead.com assembles a team of writers, curriculum professionals, editors, graphic designers and voice talents to create powerful literary experiences for older, reluctant readers. WeGottaRead.com's parent company, Right Track Academic Support Services, LLC, is headed by Michelle Stimpson, M.Ed., an educational consultant and national bestselling novelist. Since 2000, Right Track Academic Support Services, LLC, has partnered with teachers, literacy coaches, administrators and mentors in an effort to help every student experience the joy of reading.

Additionally, we strive to promote best practices in reading instruction. We offer resources that help teachers create positive, meaningful interactions with text. Research* tells us that when students read because they want to read and because they genuinely enjoy print, they become better readers overall and in turn develop the comprehension skills we so desperately want them to utilize across the curriculum.

We thank you for visiting our website and hope that you will find something you and your secondary students will absolutely devour!
